In response to the rapidly accelerating threat posed by the Coronavirus and in an effort to best protect the health and safety of all of our patients, staff and doctors, we have determined that it is best that we cease treating patients at SDNY for routine dental care effective immediately.
Our office has always incorporated strict universal precautions as recommended by the ADA and CDC. However, even with appropriate screening, ramped up disinfection of common areas and use of the most effective disinfection techniques available to us, many dental procedures have an inherently high risk of transmitting this virus.
As of Monday, March 16th, our office will be closed and we will no longer be scheduling routine preventive and elective procedures. If you are experiencing a true dental emergency such as pain, swelling or other serious issues, we will be available to help in any way we can and will determine the best and safest course of action on a case-by-case basis. We remain available 24/7 by phone or email to address your questions/concerns.
As you already know, the most important steps we can all take include:
– social distancing
– frequent and thorough washing of the hands
– avoid touching your face, nose, eyes and mouth
– assume for now that everyone is a potential carrier of the virus as coronavirus can be transmitted without any signs or symptoms
We will, of course, remain in communication with our patients and will send an email to update you when it is determined that it is safe to resume practice. All of us are in uncharted waters here and no one can predict how long this state of emergency closure will last. We can only hope and pray that you and your loved ones remain safe and healthy through these difficult times.
Thank you for your trust and support. We look forward to seeing you soon and to the world’s return to normalcy.
Sincerely,
The doctors of SDNY Dental
