The Periodontists at SDNY are specialists in performing various cosmetic periodontal procedures. One of the procedures we routinely perform is is cosmetic crown lengthening where the gums are cosmetically reshaped to make short teeth appear longer and to eliminate a “gummy” smile.

Conversely, we have other techniques that allow us to shorten a tooth that may appear too long in relation to those adjacent to it by covering a portion of the tooth with new gum tissue.
